Welcome to Skeer
The personal finance app that puts you in control one euro at a time.
Skeer is built on a simple idea: every euro you have right now should have a job. Not the euros arriving on Friday the ones sitting in your account today. When you assign every euro a purpose before you spend it, you stop wondering where your money went and start deciding where it goes.

Every account you own, with running balances and transaction history.
The full log of all income, expenses, and transfers across all accounts.
A dedicated space to track loans with balances and payoff projections.
Getting started tip: You don't need to set everything up perfectly on day one. Start with your most-used account and your biggest spending categories, then add more as you go.
Add Your Accounts
Accounts are where your money lives. Add them first your budget draws from their balances.
Skeer lets you track any type of account: a checking account, a savings pot, a credit card, even cash in your wallet. Each account has its own running balance that updates the moment you add a transaction.
How to add an account
Open the Accounts tab
Tap the Accounts icon in the bottom navigation bar.
Tap the + button
The add-account form opens. Give it a clear name like "Rabobank Checking" and enter the current balance exactly as shown in your banking app.
Save
The account appears in your list immediately. Its balance is now part of the money available to budget.
Add these
- ·Your main checking account
- ·Savings accounts
- ·Credit cards you use regularly
- ·Cash wallet (if you want to track it)
Skip for now
- ·Investment or pension accounts
- ·Accounts you never spend from
- ·Accounts already tracked as debt
Accuracy tip: Enter the balance you see in your bank app right now not last month's statement. Getting this right keeps your budget honest from day one.
Editing and deleting accounts
To rename an account or correct its balance, tap the account in the list and use the edit option. Deleting an account is permanent all transactions tied to it are removed, so your budget and history update accordingly.
Build Your Budget
Your budget is a plan for your money. Give every euro a job before you spend it.
The Budget tab uses an envelope system. Think of each category as a labeled envelope. You put money in before the month begins, spend from it during the month, and whatever's left rolls over automatically no reset, no lost euros.
Key concepts
Ready to Assign
Your unallocated pool the sum of all your account balances minus everything already assigned to categories. The goal is to get this number to zero: every euro should have a job. If it's positive, you have money waiting. If it turns negative, you've over-assigned and need to pull money back from a category.
Available
Each category shows an "Available" balance. This is: what you assigned this month + rollover from last month what you've spent. It tells you exactly how much is left in that envelope.
Rollover
Unspent money doesn't disappear at month end. Assign €100 to Groceries, spend €75 the remaining €25 rolls forward automatically into next month's Groceries envelope. No manual work needed.
Setting up your budget
Go to the Budget tab
You'll see the current month with any existing categories.
Add a category
Tap the + button and give it a clear name like "Groceries", "Rent", or "Gym Membership".
Assign money
Tap the Assign field on a category and enter how much you want in that envelope this month. Watch "Ready to Assign" count down toward zero.
Repeat until zero
Keep assigning until "Ready to Assign" hits zero. Every euro has a job.
Not sure how much to assign? Guess high rather than low. You can always move money between categories later that's not failure, that's the plan working.
Browsing future months
Tap the month header to navigate forward. Opening a future month applies the rollover from the previous month so you can plan ahead. You can "close" a future month to undo this if you opened it by accident.
Tips for good categories
- Think in spending moments. "Coffee shops" is more useful than "Food & Drink" you can see exactly where the money goes.
- Plan for irregular expenses. Car insurance due once a year? Divide the annual amount by 12 and assign that monthly. When the bill arrives, the money's already there.
- Start small. Five great categories beat twenty vague ones. Add more as you notice spending patterns you want to track.
Track Your Spending
Every euro in and out gets recorded here. It takes seconds once it's a habit.
The Transactions tab is the full ledger every income and expense across all your accounts. Adding a transaction is the moment your budget becomes real: money leaves a category envelope and your Available balance updates instantly.
Adding a transaction
Tap the "+" button
The add-transaction sheet slides up from the bottom.
Choose a type
Select Expense, Income, or Transfer between accounts.
Enter the amount
For an expense, pick the category this deducts from that envelope. For income, the amount goes into your Ready to Assign pool.
Set account, date, and payee
The account determines which balance is updated. The date defaults to today.
Save
The transaction appears in your log and the budget updates immediately.
Transaction types
Money leaving an account. Requires a category so it deducts from the right envelope.
Money coming in. The amount is added to your Ready to Assign pool.
Money moving between two of your own accounts. No category needed your net worth doesn't change.
Split transactions
A single purchase that spans multiple categories? Use a split. For example, a supermarket run that includes both groceries and household supplies.
Add an expense as normal
Enter the full total amount.
Tap "Add Split"
Enter a portion and its category. Keep adding splits until the amounts add up to the total.
Save
Each category envelope is reduced by its respective split amount.
Splits are only available for expenses. A split transaction cannot also be set as recurring.
Cleared and uncleared
Every transaction has a cleared status. Manually entered transactions start as cleared and immediately affect your balance and budget. You can toggle the Cleared switch off if you want to log something that hasn't posted yet it will be visible but won't affect any calculations until you clear it.
Uncleared transactions show up with reduced opacity and an "Uncleared" label in the list, and count appears in the Review Inbox badge.
Manage Your Debt
Know exactly what you owe, to whom, and when you'll be free of it.
The Debt tab gives your loans a dedicated home. Instead of burying them in a transaction note, you track each debt explicitly with a balance, a creditor, and a repayment schedule that shows your projected payoff date in real time.
Adding a debt
Open the Debt tab
Tap Debt in the bottom navigation bar.
Tap "+"
Enter the debt name (e.g. "Student Loan – ING"), the current outstanding balance, and who you owe it to.
Set a repayment amount and frequency
Skeer uses this to calculate your projected payoff date. Update it whenever your payment changes.
Log a payment
Whenever you make a payment, tap the debt and log it. The outstanding balance reduces and the payoff projection updates instantly.
Outstanding balance
The amount still owed, updated every time you log a payment.
Payoff projection
The estimated date you'll be debt-free based on your regular payment.
Total owed
A summary showing the combined balance of all your debts.
Tip: Logging debt payments as cleared transactions means they immediately reduce your account balance and are reflected in your budget just like any other expense.
Debt payoff strategies
Avalanche
Pay minimum on all debts, then throw every extra euro at the highest-interest one. Mathematically optimal you pay the least total interest.
Snowball
Pay minimum on all debts, then target the smallest balance. Each paid-off debt frees up cash and builds momentum.
Recurring Transactions
Set up bills and subscriptions once. Skeer tracks what's due and when.
Recurring transactions are rules that generate scheduled entries automatically. Once set up, Skeer knows Netflix is due on the 3rd, rent is on the 1st, and your gym renews monthly without you having to remember any of it.
Creating a recurring transaction
Add a transaction as normal
Fill in the amount, account, and category.
Enable "Recurring"
Toggle the recurring switch and choose the frequency: daily, weekly, monthly, or a custom interval.
Set the start date
Pick the next due date. Skeer will create the next occurrence automatically after each one is logged.
Save
The recurring rule is active. Upcoming entries appear on the Home screen when they're coming due.
Recurring transactions cannot be split across multiple categories. If a recurring bill covers multiple categories, log it manually each time and use a split.
Managing recurring rules
View and manage all recurring rules from the transactions list. You can update the amount, frequency, or next date at any time, or delete a rule when a subscription is cancelled.
Upcoming reminders
The Home screen surfaces recurring transactions that are due soon, so you're never caught off guard by a bill you forgot to budget for.
The Review Inbox
A staging area for transactions that need your approval before they count.
The Review Inbox holds uncleared transactions entries that are recorded in Skeer but not yet confirmed. Until you clear them, they don't affect your account balances, your category envelopes, or any budget calculations. Think of it as a safe holding area: visible so you don't forget, but harmless until approved.
Why uncleared transactions exist
Some transactions arrive before you've verified them something you logged in advance, or a future transaction you want to review before it hits your numbers. Skeer keeps them visible but invisible to all financial calculations until you give the thumbs up. Your "real" balance is never polluted by unconfirmed data.
How to use the Review Inbox
Find uncleared transactions
A badge on the Transactions tab and a banner on the Home screen notify you when uncleared transactions are waiting.
Open the inbox
Tap the badge or banner. Each row shows the amount, payee, account, and category.
Assign a category if needed
Tap a row to assign a category. This doesn't clear it categorizing and clearing are separate steps.
Clear the transaction
Tap the Clear button on a row. The transaction moves into your live ledger and immediately updates your balance and budget.
Clear all at once
Use "Clear all" at the top to approve everything in one tap great after a quick review session.
Tip: Pull down on the Review Inbox to refresh and check for any new uncleared transactions.
