Your financial data is personal. This page explains exactly how we protect it, what we can and cannot see, and how we keep your information safe. No fluff.
Skeer stores your accounts, transactions, and budgets in a local database on your phone. We do not upload your financial data to our servers. What you enter in Skeer stays on your device unless you choose to use Cloud Backup (a Pro feature), in which case it is encrypted in transit and stored securely in your personal Firebase storage bucket that only you can access.
Firebase Security Rules are configured so that only the authenticated owner of an account can read or write their own data. Even Skeer's own team cannot read your data from our backend. We have not built any admin tooling to browse user data, and we do not do so as part of normal operations.
Skeer uses Firebase Authentication, operated by Google. We never see, store, or handle your password. Authentication is managed entirely by Google's infrastructure, which uses industry-standard hashing and salting. If you sign in with Google, your credentials stay with Google and are never passed to us.
All data sent between your device and Skeer's backend travels over HTTPS with TLS encryption. Firebase enforces this for every connection, no exceptions. Data stored in Firebase (Cloud Backup) is encrypted at rest by Google Cloud by default.
Skeer is built on Firebase, which runs on Google Cloud Platform. Google Cloud holds the following certifications: ISO 27001, SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3, PCI DSS, and more. You can review Google Cloud's compliance documentation at cloud.google.com/security/compliance.
Skeer Pro subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. We never see, store, or handle your payment card details. All billing is managed entirely by Apple and Google. If you need to cancel or change your subscription, you do so directly in the App Store or Google Play.
If you want to permanently delete all your Skeer data, you can use the "Start fresh" option in Settings, which wipes all local data immediately. If you also want to remove your account, you can delete your Firebase account from Settings, which permanently and irreversibly removes all associated cloud data. We do not keep backups of deleted accounts.
No member of the Skeer team will ever ask for your password, PIN, or any security credential. If someone claiming to be from Skeer asks for this, it is not us. We will only ever communicate with you via support@skeerapp.com.
